The fastest way to reach me is email:

I read everything. I reply to most things within a few days, though it can take longer during busy weeks.
What I'd especially like to hear about
Corrections. Numbers age fast in this subject — the Medicare skilled nursing coinsurance amount, Medicaid income and asset limits, VA pension rates, the fee schedules a state publishes for waiver services. So do forms and offices: a notice gets renumbered, an appeal moves to a different contractor, a state renames its waiver. If a figure on a page no longer matches the agency's own page, send me the link you are looking at and I will check it against the source and correct it, with a note on the page saying what changed and when.
Gaps. If a document arrived in your parent's name and you could not find anything that explained it, tell me what it was called and what confused you — the header, the form number, the paragraph you read four times. Pages here get written from real documents, and a form I have never held is one I would like to know exists. State-specific gaps count too: if the rule where you live works differently from what a page describes, that is worth a correction or a page of its own.
Questions. Ask about a document or a rule and I will answer as best I can, or say honestly that I do not know. Often the useful answer is a pointer — which office actually handles that notice, which regulation covers it, which line of your agreement to read first. Good questions frequently turn into pages, and if yours does, nothing identifying you appears in it.
What I can't help with
- Reviewing your parent's residency agreement, admission packet, notice, or bill, or telling you whether to sign something
- Legal, medical, tax, or financial advice, or anything that depends on your specific circumstances — that needs an elder law attorney, a clinician, or your state's Medicaid agency, ombudsman, or SHIP counsellor
- Care decisions: whether a person needs care, what level of care is right, or whether a move should happen
- Recommending, rating, or placing anyone with a facility, community, home care agency, or adviser — no referrals are made and no referral fees are accepted
- Contacting a facility, agency, insurer, or government office on your behalf, or intervening in a dispute
- Requests to publish sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or link insertions
